CUBA TO REQUIRE MEDICAL INSURANCE

The Government of Cuba has decided that all travellers coming to the island from 01MAY10 and thereafter shall require medical insurance. On arrival, visitors must present a policy, insurance certificate or travellers assistance card valid for the duration of their visit to Cuba.

Travellers who are not insured or are not carrying proof of health insurance must purchase health insurance on arrival from Cuban insurance companies at the airport. McTavish Travel recommends RBC Travel Insurance for Out-of-Country Health Insurance and Cancellation Insurance. RBC Travel Insurance, issued in Canada, provides substantially more coverage for a lower premium than the insurance available in Cuba through Cubalinda.
