Windstar Unveils New and Improved Look

Windstar CruisesA second Windstar cruise ship recently completed a five-week renovation period as part of the Degrees of Difference program.

The 148-guest motor sailing yacht Wind Spirit is the second of three Windstar ships to undergo the latest renovation phase. Guest upgrades include remodeled bathrooms in all staterooms, an expanded beauty salon and a refurbished lounge.

All stateroom bathrooms have been remodeled with a more contemporary look, including new fixtures, open glass shelves, new cabinets, granite countertops, porcelain sinks and magnifying mirrors. All staterooms now feature full length mirrors, slippers, cell phone service, Euro-Top mattresses, luxury bedding, Egyptian cotton towels and bath amenities by L’Occitane.

The Salon has moved from deck one to deck three by the lounge, providing a more serene spa experience with added space for relaxation. The new space includes a waiting area, two separate massage rooms, an area for facials and hair/nail treatments and pedicure chair.

Windstar CruisesThe number of massage appointments available to guests will double with the addition of new treatments such as La Therapie Hydralift Facial, Elemis Aroma Spa Seaweed Massage and the Lonithermie Cellulite Reduction program.

Other additions in guest areas include new tables and chairs on the veranda, new couches and ceiling in the lobby and upgrades to public bathrooms. Wireless Internet is now available throughout the ship, along with Bose Sound Dock speakers in all staterooms, Apple iPod Nanos pre-loaded with music and laptops are available for rent. Guests can lounge in hammocks built for two on deck and at a newly refreshed pool bar.

The new and improved four-masted Wind Spirit will sail the Greek Isles from May to September, along with a few other Mediterranean itineraries in early spring and late fall. The 148-guest Wind Star is scheduled to begin its Degrees of Difference upgrades this October.
